Placemark Privacy Policy

Last Updated: April 26, 2026

1. Data Collection & Storage

At Placemark, we believe that your travel history is personal. Our privacy philosophy is simple: we do not collect, store, or share your data.

Placemark is a “Local-First” application.

No Personal Information: We do not require account creation, email addresses, or any personal identifiers.

Local Storage: All your travel data (visited countries, dates, and settings) is stored exclusively on your device using SharedPreferences. We do not have access to this data.

No Cloud Syncing: There are no external servers or cloud databases involved. Your data never leaves your phone.

2. Permissions

Internet Access: The app may use the internet solely for geocoding services (converting coordinates to names) or loading external map assets if required. No user data is transmitted during these processes.

Storage: The app requires standard internal storage access to save your local preferences.

3. Data Deletion

Since all data is stored locally, you have total control over it. You can permanently delete all your travel history at any time through the “Danger Zone” in the app settings or by simply uninstalling the application.

4. Third-Party Services

We use reputable open-source libraries (such as flutter_svg and google_fonts) to enhance the app experience. These services do not collect personal information from your use of Placemark.

5. Contact

If you have any questions about this privacy policy, please feel free to reach out to the developer directly.
